Time takes its toll on us This changes everything. I’d be a liar if I denied you at all. Oh, now that I know, This changes everything. Oh, now that I know… And the amplifier screams out loud for the last time. Wave your hands at the audience as you sink on in.
Hey, do you happen to have more pictures of that "faux" hawk haircut? My daughter is looking for something like that for the summer. Thanks!
Man, these are silly… I don’t think I have any more since I’m not in the habit of taking 15374835 photos of myself. I do advise you, though, that by definition this is a mohawk and not a faux hawk. The hair on the side of my head was originally buzzed to 1/2 inch and less. If your daughter wants a faux, be sure to specify because it’s a completely different haircut process and is also a lot easier to maintain.
I wrote a four word letter with post script, in crooked lines, “Tho’ I’d lived I’d never been alive.” You know who I am You held my hem as I traveled Blind listening to a whispering in my ear, Soft, but getting stronger Telling me the only purpose of my being here is to stay a bit longer
Discard this message Throw this bottle back in the ocean Rip this page from the history books Smash all the street signs Erase all the maps Forget my name Forget my face Forget my name Because it’s going to rain And it never ends
That's so awesome that you like Listener too! I knew I liked you from the start. ;)
Even coming from an upbringing of hardcore and punk, on the inside my soul sounds like Listener, Moving Mountains, and Circa Survive. I’m a not-so-secret romantic idealist when it comes to music (and travel). Must be the synesthesia talking. <3
Wait, it's that easy to meet them? If they were playing at, say, a large stadium with Iron Maiden, the same rules would apply? (This interests me because of reasons)
Arena/support shows are different because the budget is higher, the venues are serious business, and the buses will probably have their own locked space. I would recommend waiting for a normal headlining tour or keep your eyes open for signings.
If I wanted to write a fan letter to the band (Coheed and Cambria), and possibly ask for an autograph, what is the address I would write to? I looked it up on the internet, but my letter was mailed back return to sender.
Honestly, I never hear about people actually doing that. The old address is no longer home to anything related to the band. I think the biggest problem with this endeavor is that the band members live on the opposite side of the country from the management. And there are fewer people on “staff” than you probably imagine.
Coheed and Cambria are not by any means a huge famous band that you have to write to in order to get an autograph. For all practical purposes they are four dudes touring in a van… I mean that in a good way. The whole process is pretty simple and down to earth. There isn’t really a channel that you can go through to get The Official Autographs and Fan Mail department. Just go to a show and hang around, they are not hard to meet in person.
Edit: SORRY, I meant to answer this privately… hope this is okay. :x
I hilariously still call myself a Coheed fan even though I have yet to truly dig in the graphic novels/YOTBR novel. How should I go about (finally!) doing this so that the story makes as much sense as it can? Also, I remember seeing something about a college thesis relating back to Coheed; how could I get my hands on rhetoric like that? Thanks a bunch! Can't wait to see you in Urbana <3.
Okay, so I’m really sorry I haven’t answered this yet but I haven’t had enough time on my computer to do anything and I can’t insert links from the Tumblr app. SO…
You’ll want to start with Year of the Black Rainbow. It explains the history of Heaven’s Fence, the creation of Coheed and Cambria, and important character backstory. The novel is totally out of print in both hardcover and paperback, but you can also get it as an e-book for Kindle (which can be read on a computer using the free Kindle app).
Next, you will want the Amory Wars: Second Stage Turbine Blade Ultimate Edition. This book covers the entire SSTB story arc and also contains bonus material including the two original (and rare) Bag.on.Line SSTB comics. If you find it for a good price online, buy it. Despite there being plenty left in existence, there is still a weirdly restrictive market for them resulting in unreasonable prices.
Moving on, you will want the Amory Wars: In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3 books. An ultimate edition is currently still in pre-order and will be released in stores in a few weeks. Trade paperbacks collecting the single issues are also available, but I’d honestly wait for the Ultimate.
Then you may or may not want the Good Apollo v1 graphic novel. It was released alongside the CD in 2005. Due to financial restraints, some of the story was reputedly cut and Claudio is not satisfied with the end product. He intends to have it redone in comic form rather than the strange, dark digital art featured. While this part of the story is subject to change and should not be considered canon, it does offer great insight into the story and has always been a fan favorite.
There is no story at all yet for NWFT. As for the thesis question, I know a lot of people have written scholarly essays on Coheed-related stuff. I have one relating to mythological archetypes and it can be read here. If you want more of them, ask around or on Cobalt because I’m sure people have written them.
And it was amazing to see you in Urbana! Love you!
Here's hoping for some totally wicked preorder bundles when the new album comes out :) And also a tour with northern dateeeessssssssss!
Pretty sure they’re going just about everywhere in the next year or two. To be totally honest though, I have less sympathy for you Northeasters on the show dates front, since Coheed’s a NY band and there have always been so many shows within such a small area. You lucky jerks, lol.
i found your blog through a series of other co&ca blogs and i've been creeping for a solid hour now. congratulations on your success and weight loss! you are an inspiration! maybe i'll see you at the next coheed show i go to (whenever that might be.) take care!! :)
Aw, thank you. :) See you sometime, maybe, whenever and wherever!
Hey Jess, I don't know if you're the right person to ask, but I looked on Evil Ink's website and I couldn't find anything about IKSSE:3: Ultimate Edition, do you know if there are still pre-orders for it or if I have to just wait? Thanks!
Boom and Evil Ink haven’t been running preorders. You can still preorder from Amazon. A couple people had theirs shipped to them, but I think it was an accident. On release day it will be available through Boom and Evil Ink, as usual.
